Do you need a workplace spouse? Just finished a press interview on workplace spouses. The article will be expoloring the issue of people who” couple up” in the workplace and spend a lot of time together. We are not talking about having a passionate affair. The concept simply means you hang out with this person constantly. We have all seen the workplace spouse deal in action. It is the buddy concept taken to the next level. Here is the good news. Having someone that you trust at works lowers stress and increases satisfaction. However, do you really have to go so far as to have a workplace spouse? Dr. K says no. That is too far. Having a workplace spouse can keep you from developing a broader network of relationships at varying levels of intensity and trust. So, develop relationships but don’t get too committed!
